PITTSBURGH, PA (November 18, 2025) – Family House has announced that Linda Jakubec has been chosen to serve as the new Chief Financial Officer for the 42-year nonprofit. Jakubec will officially join the nonprofit on Friday, November 21.
Jakubec comes to Family House with over 25 years of senior finance and accounting experience, including service the last 15 years as the Vice President for Finance at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. Jakubec also previously served as a senior manager with Maher Duessel.
“It’s an honor to join Family House as Chief Financial Officer and support its inspiring mission of providing a ‘home away from home’ for families facing medical crises,” Jakubec stated. “I look forward to collaborating with the dedicated team to build on the organization’s strong foundation, ensuring its financial stability, growth, and continued impact for years to come.”
Jakubec earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Accounting at West Virginia University. Following graduation, she moved to Pittsburgh to begin her career as an auditor at KPMG, one of the “Big Four” accounting firms. During her time at KPMG, she earned her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. Her early career also included a position as Accounting Manager at Pittsburgh Mercy Health System, where she worked at Mercy Hospital prior to its integration into UPMC. While working full-time, Jakubec pursued her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at the University of Pittsburgh, attending classes at night to further strengthen her expertise.

Throughout her career, Jakubec has held roles across a range of social service and nonprofit organizations, reflecting her deep commitment to community and service. She is driven by a desire to empower employees, facilitate meaningful change, and make thoughtful, strategic decisions grounded in fairness and integrity.
She and her husband, Scott Suess, live in Robinson Township, PA, with their two daughters, Megan (23) and Katie (16).
