PITTSBURGH, PA (July 23, 2024) – Family House, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safe, affordable, and convenient lodging to patients and their families who travel to Pittsburgh for medical care, is pleased to announce the appointment of five distinguished individuals to its Board of Directors. These new members bring a wealth of experience, extensive healthcare industry knowledge, and expertise that will support Family House’s mission and strategic initiatives for years to come.
The new Family House Board of Directors members are as follows (alphabetical by last name):
Maris Dauer
Associate Vice President, Marketing Administration, Community Charitable Giving & Employee Communications, UPMC Health Plan
Pittsburgh, PA
Maris is an Associate Vice President, Marketing Administration and Community Relations for the Marketing and Innovation Department of UPMC Health Plan, which is part of the UPMC Insurance Services Division. She currently serves on the boards for The National Aviary, The United Way, Riverlife, the Allegheny County Parks Foundation, and the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy. She is currently serving as Co-Chair for the United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh. She continued her education at the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Emory University, where she earned a Master of Public Health in epidemiology. She then went on to earn a Master of Health Science in health policy at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Lina Dostilio
Vice Chancellor, Engagement & Community Affairs, University of Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh, PA
Lina serves as Vice Chancellor of Engagement and Community Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh and is also an Associate Professor of Practice within the Department of Educational Foundations, Organizations, and Policy in the School of Education. Her research explores the community engagement professional in higher education and hyperlocal, place-based engagement. She serves on the council of experts for the National Science Foundation-funded Center for Advancing Research Impact, the board for Program to Aid Citizen Enterprise and the advisory board for The Forbes Funds. She is an inducted member of the Academy of Community Engagement Scholarship, a highly selective honor recognizing outstanding scholarly contributions to the field of community engagement. She holds doctoral and master’s degrees from Duquesne University and earned a Bachelor of Arts in sociology at Penn State.
John Krolicki
Vice President, Facilities & Support Services, UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh / Chief Administrative Sustainability Officer, UPMC
Pittsburgh, PA
John serves as Vice President, Facilities & Support Services, at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, bringing experience from previous roles at UPMC and Beaumont Services Company. He holds a Master’s in Health Care Administration from Central Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University. Additionally, he serves as Chief Administrative Sustainability Officer at UPMC.
Rachel Richelieu
Vice Chancellor for University Communications and Marketing, University of Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh, PA
Rachel serves as Vice Chancellor of University Communications and Marketing at the University of Pittsburgh. In this capacity, she directs the integrated communications and marketing strategy supporting Pitt’s world-class research and scholarship, academic achievements, groundbreaking partnerships and innovations, and pioneering faculty and staff. She oversees a nearly 60-person team of communications, marketing, and creative design professionals responsible for strategic communications and marketing, including issues management, media relations and public relations, social media, design, video and multimedia, and web services. She previously served as director of strategic communications for five years at MITRE, a not-for-profit technology and research-and-development company that partners with government, industry, and academia to address global challenges. Before that, she was vice president of public relations and corporate communications for Strayer Education and held leadership roles at Hewlett Packard, BAE Systems, and Pratt & Whitney. Richelieu earned an MBA at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in communications at George Mason University.
Maggie Thieman
Vice President, Post Acute Services, West Virginia University
Morgantown, WV
Maggie serves as the Vice President of Post Acute Services at West Virginia University. Maggie is a born-and-raised Pittsburgher who has had the privilege of practicing as a Hospitalist clinician at Allegheny Health Network since 2012. She graduated from the Internal Medicine program at Vanderbilt University and subsequently returned home to serve the tristate community. She has held a variety of leadership positions during her time at AHN, most of which were focused on fostering trust, relationships, and accountability between patients, providers, and executives.
