Family House Workplace Recognized with Two Awards

Employee-driven honors highlight a culture of compassion and a strong commitment to staff well-being

PITTSBURGH, PA (October 7, 2026) – Family House has been named a 2026 Top Workplace by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and has also received the 2026 Great Benefits Award from Mployer, the industry standard for employee benefit plan rating. Together, the two recognitions reflect Family House’s ongoing commitment to creating a workplace where staff feel valued, supported, and connected while doing meaningful work for the families the organization serves each day.

The Top Workplaces list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a confidential, third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The survey measures the employee experience and its component themes, including employees feeling “Respected and Supported”, “Enabled to Grow”, and “Empowered to Execute”. Family House is one of only 41 organizations with fewer than 150 employees in the Greater Pittsburgh area to receive this distinction.

John Plante, Chief Executive Officer of Family House, shared the following on the awards: “The care our staff show to families is the same care they show one another. To be named a Top Workplace by virtue of our own team’s voices, and to be recognized for our benefits, reflects a culture we are proud of and committed to continuing to build.”

Family House was also recognized by Mployer for the strength of its benefits program. The Great Benefits Award is based on an in-depth, data-driven evaluation of an employer’s benefit offerings across four major categories: medical, ancillary benefits such as dental, vision, and life insurance, paid time off and leave, and retirement. Only employers who meet or exceed market standards across these core categories are eligible for recognition. For Family House, the award reflects an ongoing investment in the health, well-being, and financial security of its team.

Nate King, Chief Operations and Administrative Officer of Family House, added: “A strong workplace culture starts with teamwork, compassion, and a willingness to support one another, and the Family House staff bring those qualities every day. These awards reflect our ongoing investment in their well-being, from the benefits we offer to the connected, supportive environment we strive to create.”

Family House extends its sincere thanks to its staff, whose teamwork, compassion, and willingness to support one another have built the culture these honors recognize. Their care extends not only to the guests and families who stay at Family House, but also to each other.
