Beginning April 30, 2026, Family House will be making adjustments to its UBER transportation services as part of ongoing efforts to best allocate resources and continue serving the greatest number of guests in need.
Under this updated structure, roundtrip UBER transportation arranged by Family House will be available ONLY for the following hospital locations:
- Allegheny General Hospital
- West Penn Hospital
- UPMC Children’s Hospital
For all other destinations, self-pay UBER rides will continue to be available.
Guests who wish to arrange a self-pay ride can do so easily with assistance from Family House Front Desk staff, who are always available to help coordinate transportation needs.
Guests traveling to UPMC hospitals are strongly encouraged to take advantage of the Family House shuttle service, which remains a reliable and convenient option for daily transportation.
Additionally, guests are always welcome to make their own transportation arrangements based on what works best for their individual schedules and care needs.
We are also pleased to continue offering weekly UBER trips to local stores, ensuring guests have access to groceries and everyday essentials during their stay.
